Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best season to hunt Caucasian Tur? +
August through November. August-September offers stable weather and excellent visibility. October-November (rutting season) offers less cautious males but with more snow and cold temperatures.
How long does an expedition last? +
Combined expeditions last 10-14 days. For a single subspecies, 7-10 days is sufficient. Time includes flights, acclimatization, stalking and transfers.
What physical fitness do I need? +
High cardiovascular endurance and strength training minimum 6 months. Steep stalking on extreme terrain, altitudes up to 13,800 feet. We accept hunters with physical limitations by adapting pace and using horses.
What are the differences between Tur subspecies? +
West Caucasian Tur: Scimitar horns, Karachayevo-Cherkessia. Mid Caucasian Tur: Hybrid phenotype, Kabardino-Balkaria. Eastern Caucasian Tur: Lyre horns, Dagestan. Each is a separate SCI trophy.
Do I need CITES permit to import trophy to USA? +
Yes. Requires CITES (Appendix II) and veterinary certificates. Process takes extra days in Moscow but is completely viable. We advise on all documentation.
What is the real success rate in 2025? +
100% success in localization of target species (46 expeditions) and 99% shot effectiveness. These numbers reflect our territory mastery, animal knowledge, and guide quality.
Can I hunt if I have physical limitations or advanced age? +
Yes, proven experience with elderly hunters, overweight, or with specific health conditions. We adapt routes, pace and extensively use horses to minimize physical effort.
What hunting equipment do you recommend? +
Rifle: Flat-shooting Magnum (.300 WM, .338 WM, 7mm RM). Boots: Gore-Tex high collar. Clothing: Layers (merino + Primaloft + Gore-Tex). Accessories: Trekking poles, headlamp, altitude kit, 10x42 binoculars.
Do you use fly camps at high altitude? +
Yes, for efficient approaches especially when animals are far from base camp. Include heated tents, survival gear and satellite communication. Uncomfortable but effective, reducing stalking time.
