German citizens and residents are again allowed to enter the Russian Federation with a valid visa.

German citizens with a valid visa will be allowed to enter Russia again. The Russian government has published amendments to the decree on the admission of foreigners to the country. They also apply to third-country nationals with a residence permit in Germany.

The Russian-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) on Sunday, April 4, also announced the easing of restrictions on entry into the Russian Federation. In addition to Germany, the list includes Venezuela, Syria, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka.

At the same time, it is still unknown when the Germans will again begin to issue Russian tourist visas. According to forecasts by the Government of the Russian Federation, visas to Russia will be available after about May 9th. About a year ago, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the issuance of visas was largely suspended, and air traffic between the two countries was completely stopped.
